I really doubt this issue of Time would have sold as well if "The Magic World of Credit" was the main cover story... |

I can't give the song a 1 but I like your reference to her background singing.....That's a good place for her. Her "hits" seem out of place here. |

The last time I heard Linda Ronstadt sing it was that commercial for "Plow King"... Comments about AM radio aside, she had (has?) a wonderful voice.

...gee, I was really thinking that I needed to hear some Linda Ronstadt right about now. She was the first musical artist I got to see live... I was probably all of about 12... no make that 8 (The parental units took us along to the Universal Amphitheater.)

Based on the low song ID numbers, he added them a long time ago and then just didn't play them. Man, am I ever a nerd ... |

For me Linda is a guilty pleasure. I kinda like the 80's stuff off of Mad Love: "How Do I Make You," "Hurt So Bad," and "Justine." Especially the way she delivered this lyric from "Justine:" Ah, but love came down like a hammer and it blew her away. . . |

Yep, she was hotter than a rocket, all right. I remember her being Jerry Brown's GF when he was running for POTUS back in the day. What a talent! |

I liked her voice, and some of her stuff, especially early (Stone Ponies), but the thing is she was one of the those in rock who was just a vocalist and she came along smack in the middle of an era when the singers were moving out on their own, and away from being controlled by the studios. People who previously just wrote songs were now getting to sing them (e.g., Warren Zevon). She did not write her own songs, and it really was more just the voice, without owning a song. Some were good, but just not a lot of feeling that comes with owning the song.
