Emmylou Harris has had what a great many people feel is a very beautiful voice, for a long time, despite the fact that you apparently believe yourself to be an arbiter of vocal talent.  It's one thing to dislike the sound of her voice, but asserting that she can't sing is another.

Proclivities rocks! {#Dancingbanana_2} Always well-informed and well spoken.

Welcome to the world of yum.  I just bought the CD of "All the Roadrunning" with Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. GOOOOD music. Emmylou's "Wrecking Ball" is an excellent piece of work, should you want to invest... {#Mrgreen}

I'm a lifelong Emmylou fan.  I ended up buying nearly all of her albums.  I love the way she sings — and how her style is never boring for me.  I'm giving her a 10 on this altho it's not the best song on the CD.  After my dad died, I listened to "Bang the Drum Slowly" over and over...  {#Notworthy}

I first saw this woman perfrom 38 years ago in a tiny theater in the round that has since disappeared. She came out in a white cowgirl outfit, complete with white cowgirl boots. I was with one of my buddies and I swear, betweeen songs we both turned to each other and said "I want this woman to have my baby".

As I remember her voice, the music and her band were outstanding, as has every show I have seeen her in. {#Bananapiano}{#Bananajam}

   When Emmylou Harris released "Red Dirt Girl" on Sept. 12th 2006, she was a nine-time Grammy winner.  This is her first studio LP since 1995's Wrecking Ball, she wrote 11 of the album's 12 cuts. Don't cha be bad-mouthing the woman of my (and 9 out of 10 other guys)  dreams, buck-o. She is an obviously very talented singer-songwriter, with the voice of an angel, and knock your cowboy hat in the dirt looks !

   Song : "This is us"
  {#High-five}

Sammy Ylanas of the BoDeans confessed onstage that he had a crush on Emmylou Harris, and wrote the song, "She's Waiting For Me Somewhere" for her. Just a little trivia there...

Emmylou has forgotten more about music than most artists have ever learned. She's rather iconic. Granted, she's an acquired taste for some people who adamantly repudiate country music (yup, I was one of those people, once upon a time...) but her history speaks for itself. She's amazing. (P.S. - I love "Wrecking Ball"!)

I was lucky enough to see Emmylou at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz after Wrecking Ball.
She put on a Concert acoustic guitar that was almost as big as she was.

And she is HUGE!

A marginal talent when she was young whose voice has become increasingly limited to a one octave range as she's gotten older.  Too bad she can't transform some of her good looks into a good voice.
