Sine'ad O'Connor is one of the most unique female artists to have ever been born. I love the fact that she pissed the entire world off! I wish she would do it more often! I totally hate that others have taken a bite off of her style.

I was so excited for a minute... Sublime on radioparadise.

Then I saw it was Sinead O'Connor.

After this song came out, I remember hearing a lot of bands sample this drum beat, and still hear it being done today.

Nice version, but I've got to side with the DCD version as well.
Along the same line as this song 'Wind that Shakes the Barley' really shows the vocal talents of Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance. Also check out 'Gloridean' from the live version of Towards the Within DVD.

Of all the hundreds of artists that have sampled Funky Drummer, this is by far the most mundane.
OK, the addition of the violins and drums at the end at least adds some texture and redeems this a tiny bit.

That sounds like a sample from James Brown's "Funky Drummer"

Oh, and she's pretty cute for a bald chick.

And why doesn't it seem like she is singing the wrong song to this music???

I actually heard the Dead Can Dance cover of this before Sinead and liked it. When I met my man-friend he put this on a CD for me and it was sort of a test...Would I like it? Unlike gals of his past? Yes, I would...and Yes, I do.

Great story, and there are some amazing song on DCD's Toward the Within.

A friend of mine from France got married in England. He said, "it's great here! It's not 'I do', but 'I will'". "But you said you would!" "I will!" :O)

and in making that comment you seem to be taking British tradition a little too seriously!

Quite surprised to see these negative comments. Quite a downer to read them, since I'm very positive about this song. IMHO it deserves a 9, and more playtime.

I'm not on top of Sublime's song titles, so I don't know, but when it started I definitely thought it was Sublime, so you're not alone.

Unfortunately, no. What you'll need is a set of ears and a brain that is willing and able to efficiently process and store an abundance of different kinds of music. No?

Whoa, whooooa there. I'm just kidding! Sinead ain't for everyone.

You're so serious lately. :)
