Whenever I hear this I get a tear in my eye for all those I've loved in my life who have left me here alone.

I'll stroke my (not) hipster beard and say, I had this on vinyl when it first came out. I had a very hip big sister. Love TB and JB. The fates are tough on demigods.

I like the "I was too far out all my life, not waving but drowning." The marvelous Stevie Smith wrote this, and she knew this well.
This song is gorgeous. Thanks for playing it.

this is for Tim Buckley—
His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead. —James Joyce, "The Dead" in Dubliners (1914) or "i was much too far out all of my life......not waving but drowning" |

Taking a melodic journey back in time to a place and time of sweet scents and loving memory, of a snapshot in my life when the world was spinning true, and here I am today thinking of you . . . that special woman from way back. Great Tune!

Cynaera wrote: Thank you, romeotuma - it lends a level of importance to this father and son legacy. I love this song, and pretty much anything either of these Buckley people have done. (P.S. - what the frell WAS it that Tim Buckley ingested? Sounds like cleaning solutions... Whatever it was, it was just wrong.)
Miss you so much, Ann...rest in peace... |

Oh what a heavenly love song. Tim was also a very powerful vocalist. Saw him twice when he and his band were touring "Postcard from L.A.". Now, that album was very hot and raunchy, indeed! A total departure from this. I love both sides of this mercuric performer. RIP, Tim...
