Hmmm... DID YOU SEE THE AMG LINK ABOVE???
For whoever uploaded this, thanks. Could/Did you try "When I Watch You Sleeping"? And yeah, she does sound a bit like Shawn Colvin. |

That melody somehow reminds me of the one played at the opening ceremonies of "Summer Games", a video game on the C-64 where you participate in various events of the Olympic games... Pole vault, swimming, skeet shooting etc. It's also played at the opening of Activision's "Decathlon" on the C-64 and Atari 2600. Of course not quite like that... ;-)

I'd forgotten about Eddi Reader - her appearance in 'Fairground Attraction' was a highlight of - oooh, too long ago to measure - but all her stuff after that seemed rather sub-Attraction. But this is really very good, delighted to hear it. |

Really beautiful and impressive in all its simplicity (suits the songtitle).
Not too often anymore I'm so eager to get to know an artist (I've never heard of before) better.

Simple song, simple chords, simply soul soothing. :)

Great to see Eddi Reader getting some play on a US-based station. I didn't know that her music had travelled across the ocean yet! The album this comes from is really excellent and is probably her best yet - although I still love Mirmama (her first solo album) a lot. It would be great to hear the first track from that album some time - "What you do with what you've got" - which is a truly beautiful song that deserves much more recognition than it has ever had.
