Nice transition from Kosheen's "Avalanche" to this one!

Ha ha, absolutely right :)
Which demonstrates how popular their sound became in the eighties. The Fixx really had an influence on a number of bands.

This really sounds too much like Duran Duran and is unsettling my stomach.

Eh? I had this rated as a 2. . . and I just re-rated it as an 8.

Danny Elfman has gone on to become a great film score composer but I really wish he'd have kept Oingo going on the side - it was so good at what it was.

If we can only surgically remove Danny Elfman from Tim Burton's ass then the world would be a better place

I thought it was Bryan Ferry at first and I nearly hit mute out of reflex, but I'm glad I hung on a couple of seconds. This isn't great, it's very much of its time and apolitical hedonistic genre (in which Duran Duran fits) but it's listenable and fun. 6 from the pleasantly surprised Nottingham jury.

Danny Elfman is really a talented and prolific artist. This was his stomping ground. Oingo Boingo was great and still to this day hold up well. His soundtracks and scores to movies are excellent too. Always had a great amount of respect for this under rated 80s band.
