Pleasantly so, but I still have the urge to give Beck a wedgie for faulting himself ad nauseam.

I know what you mean.  I think Tom Cruise is a great actor too.  One thing that perplexes me more than anything is this group and how they attract the smart, talented people they do. But all religions do that.  I am sure they really mean well.  As an atheist, if a religious person pressed me hard with the question "OK, fine, then where do we find meaning in life?" then I have no rebuttal - I am a bit of an "existentialist" that way. But it is incumbent on these artists to address the many serious allegations made against the church.

I'm beginning to like this guy. Rated 8 but it might actually be worth more, but I'm not sure yet.

Yes, but there is inspiration in the clarity and honesty...not to mention integrity with taking FULL responsibility!

Yes, me too.  Scroll down.  Go rent Apocalypse Now now (rent it now, I mean).  If you have not seen it, you are in for the greatest experience of your life.

And then Aerosmith's "Nobody's Fault."  I forget which album it's from. I am a bad, bad audiophile{#Beat}

12 years ago. Since then, nothing really remarkable - just wasted blues. Whose fault?

As I've said before about Beck on another track listing...maturity is a good thing. Sounds like he's mastered it. Yep.

This and Sea Change are 2 of my fave Beck discs. He's at his best when he's doing this down-tempo melancholy stuff, IMO. I hope his best work is yet to come.

Oh, man - what a good song!  I'm liking Beck more and more all the time. "Loser" used to drive me bug-f*ck, but it made me laugh at the same time (maybe that was what drove me bug-f*ck.)  I could listen to this song repeatedly, just for the slower pace and that lush, open-tuned guitar, the cello, the sitar... {#Sunny}

... can be played by tuning guitar to CGCFAC - just like beck's 'round the bend.  i think both have a 'lazy river' sort of feel - but the river may be the ganges for one and the mississippi for the other...

tuning is like neil young's fav double dropped D but another step lower

I sometimes over-do-it by trying to listen to an entire Beck album all the way through and I 'beck out'.  Individual songs are just amazing.
There is nothing he seems not able to do with quality.

This song just resonates so strongly to my fragile, flawed, often wrong, and humbled self.
