PLEASE STOP PLAYING THIS SONG SO MUCH!!

We listen to RP because it is supposed to be an alternative to mainstream radio which overplays songs like this.

Aretha Franklin is amazing BUT "RESPECT" IS NOT HER ONLY SONG!!

I challange RP to play any other song from Aretha Franklin!

One line that's always had me mystified, and might be a mondegreen. After "R.E.S.P.E.C.T" does she sing "take up TCP"? I could understand that if yer man had halitosis, mind :o)

I always thought the acronym was "TCB" - which meant "take (or taking) care of business", even before the BTO song or Elvis Presley's use of the term.

According to the song info: "Plays in last 30 days: 2". I wouldn't count that as "so much"...

Anyone who rated this song a 1 must have crapped the bed and rolled in it before they got up that day.

Is it just me or do RP listeners tend to overrate "classic" tracks like this.

I know, I know..."It's just you." Beat ya to it.

Sorry about that outburst but having lived through the 60's era and being a big fan of SOUL I get really pissed when I hear the garbage of today
.

That's okay. You're allowed. Like me, you've lived through it when it was new.

No exceptions.

I was a huge Zep, Beatles, Floyd fan, etc. and at almost 52 years old, I've heard enough of it. If I never hear Comfortably Numb again that will be fine with me. Every note is permanently engraved in my brain anyway.

There comes a time when ANY song, no matter how good, can be played too much...
When a pop song thos old is played this much for decades...it reaches that point.  Arethra was a brilliant musician with many wonderful songs worth exploring
