Come on, "Sex Machine" or "Mother Popcorn" (among many songs) by James Brown have painstakingly repetitive drum and bass patterns throughout most of the songs; are you saying that the "Godfather Of Soul" was misnamed? I'm not sure if there is much modern music which is called "soul" anymore; there are all sorts of new labels which have been concocted. |
