Guess you never listened to much Jane's Addiction...

I actually think he and Mike Scott sound more alike.

I wouldn't go that far. But I do like this song and most of what he does.

Ok, never heard it before but my first, relatively unconsidered reaction is: lyrics - 5; overall sound (if lyric meaning ignored) - 9. Average: 7

I dunno, I kinda like the lyrics.  I can't understand them so I tend to ignore them, but when I went and looked them up, they seemed sweet and upbeat; like a child's description of dawn.  But then, I tend to like childlike music, when it's also, y'know, good.

i just read the Jane's Addiction book "Whores" about the LA music scene and their lives mid-80's on and enjoyed hearing some newer Perry Farrell just to put in perspective.

It is kinda funny how these days even U2 has to try to sound like U2.  Too bad good music just doesn't seem to be popular anymore.

I'm not exactly a fan, but I appreciate the fact that he continues to "evolve" musically, take risks and not worry about what people think, like other greats such as Dylan, Bowie, Neil Young, Tom Waits et al.

I like this, a nice change in sound from his old Jane type stuff. Generally I didn't like most of the Jane stuff, and he seemed like that was all he'd do.

Now don't you be asking me to eat krow. This album is good but would be better with a real drummer.

They appeared on "Leno" with a sex pot go go dancer (ala 1960's but on extreme steroids).

The tune wasn't as memorable as the imagery. Wife complained about the dancer and refused to accept any expaination that it might be intended as provocative artistic imagery (not intended to be taken entirely seriously). Impressive for someone who barely recovered from a grave illness.

The "sex pot go go dancer" is Perry's wife. Thank god Jane's is back together!

This solo album rocks though!
