Like all fine cheeses a solo Roger Waters is an acquired taste. But after you get used to it it's quite good. |

a song writtern about a fantastic day - July 13, 1985 - where peace, love and music really did make a difference.

Great album...it was pretty refreshing when it came out.
Love Roger...he calls a spade a spade, very vocal about our collective stupidities. This is pretty hopeful for him.

Roger was the primary songwriter and occasional lead singer. Gutiarist David Gilmour was the lead singer on most of post Syd Barret Floyd. |

Wow, I haven't heard this track in years! Certainly my favorite off of the album. The choir at the end is just perfect.

Hit me with that guitar sledgehammer!
Scant indeed, but devastating!

Pink was great (under statment) but love that he tried to put together something to sound like his own, well done
The past belongs in the past, we have to remember this!!!

I found this album years ago and it's still one of my favorites.
All of his solo work is excellent.

This is a great CD to listen to, especially if you've forgotten that awful feeling that nuclear destruction was inevitable back in the mid-80's. What a different world we live in today. Kind of.

I just can't help but to like Roger Waters, even though I wish I could just say, "Yes, I know your dad died in the war, but fer chrissakes that was over 60 years ago! Time to move on!" But then, he goes and writes something that makes me think he did just that.

Yes, the full title of the song is "The Tide is Turning (After Live Aid)."
I think it's interesting to compare this song to the album-closing song on his next album, "Amused To Death." Apparently Waters' optimism for the human race was kind of short-lived. |

The end of the "cold war" and the peace dividend, which Bush has not only stopped, but borrowed heavily against. |

I actually think Hitchhicking was the best. The concert was definately better with Clapton on Guitar! |

I disagree. 'The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking' is pretty good.
