Bob Marley Portrait

At first glance I thought the picture posted by Calypsus was of Medusa's severed head!

I think a lot of Marley's tunes (and a lot of reggae tunes in general) have that sort of arrangement where the bass line carries the song.  It's very prominent in this tune.

I recently listened to a re-lease of the album that featured the original cuts the way Bob intended which was much heavier on the Wailers harmony. I liked them much better.

People talk about the guitar solo from "Comfortably Numb", but this solo has always been my favored of the two. I bought this cassette from Wal Mart as a whim, super saver purchase back in the late 80's. I haven't been back to Wal Mart since, and this cassette has had a more profound effect on my life than the big box retailer has.

I'm going to guess it's Wayne Perkins, but it could have been Bob himself.  Probably Wayne.

My favorite Bob Marley song. The video of him singing this on "Time Will Tell" is great.
