I disagree...in the present anyway. His voice was, imo, wonderful on his most recent live album cd/dvd. |

Every time I heard this song, I think about the loser that I was fool enough to give shelter and love, and it makes me want to puke.

It's why artists record...to get played...how often they are is a signal about how well they did...you don't like it? PSD, mate...The Great Canadian Bullfrog will still be playing long after you can't type anymore. |

His "voice" has improved over the years and I now love him even more! His last tour was outstanding. I saw him in Liverpool (UK) and you could have heard a pin drop when he was talking in between songs. The sound system was one of the best in terms of clarity in a big arena that I have ever heard. The concert was fun - and this really comes across on the DVD - "Live in London" he is a very amusing guy believe it or not! Sharon Robinson, one of his song writing "collaborators" was also superb as a backing singer and soloist. Her only album is great for late night listening. Her co backing singers, The Webb sisters, are two English sisters who are also terrific in their own right. The musicians that he picked are of the highest quality which all helped to add up to one of the greatest concerts/gigs of my long music loving life! |

Next time this comes on, hit mute and find the song lyrics and see if they grab you. Cohen's not the greatest singer on this earth, but I've come to like his gravelly near-subsonic voice thanks to repeated exposure by RP. Jennifer Warnes' "Famous Blue Raincoat" and "Tower of Song, The songs of Leonard Cohen" a Cohen "tribute" album, both have some really accessable vocals doing his music, if you'd like a rest from the Great Canadian Bullfrog :) |

Is Mr Cohen collecting any royalty checks from the makers of the old Leisure Suit Larry video game? This is right out of that soundtrack.

If you keep ratimng songs like this a 10 i will rate them a 0. kinda keeps things equal. Just rate it correctly not just to up it's value....sigh!!!! andreicio wrote: What do you mean by rare? You only gave maximum ratings on RP. And 3682 10's isn't exactly avoiding it, either.

No no no no no no no... there are many many many many songs I do not bother rating at all, because I only have room for 10's... Radio Paradise plays tons of tens... this is one of them... |
