How do you mean by itself?  How would it be stronger by not being by itself?  I think it is a fine little ditty.

Wow, like this song and it follows Sentimental by Porcupine Tree really well. A deep bow to the DJ.

This song is off of the Devlins 1997 album Waiting and I loved (and still love) that and their 1993 album Drift. I'm not familiar with their more recent stuff but damn I listened to Drift over and over again when I was a sad teenager... but don't let that deter you.
