As a child, I had my elder brothers coming home with all sorts of new LP's (at the time). During holidays I'd ask them by which song I'd like to be awakened next morning. They'd open up the doors downstairs, turn up the volume and put on the songs I'd asked. I remember asking for this song many many times.
Wonderful memories.

I'm sure everyone has his or her own ideas about which album(s) to start with, but my personal rec is to just start with his first one ("Saturate Before Using") and then go from there in the order in which the albums were released. It's not only methodical, but it's also a great way of hearing how his music has changed and progressed since his debut. Happy shopping!  |

One of my favorite albums - and album covers! - from the classic singer-songwriter era. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for JB, but "Fountain of Sorrow" is his best single work I think.

One of my all time favourite artist. I saw him do a solo show here in Ottawa. It was part of benefit celebration tied to the signing of the land mines treaty. Bruce Cockburn was the host and other performer. He was great and I agree with other regarding his stage persona. I woudl still like to have seen him with the full band.
