sure, he cant sing, but that's not the point
he's a poet, and a powerful one at that

It saddens me that most people here only search for plain technique in the music. Instead of emotion. Please; listen -> feel -> think instead of just listen -> think. plzkthxbye ;) . This song may not totally 'rock', but it most certainly serves the purpose of music and art in general; sparking emotion.

one of the best damn songs, by the best song writer out there. I could write more about Conor, but then it would be too long, so i will stop here. :(

Have never heard of him before, but this guy has got some jam ... scooted over to see if this was some obscure Paul Westerberg - Replacements-ish track ...

Tell me this isn't the singer from Violent Femmes. He's got exactly the same pathetic mannerism. Kinda like it. Kinda.

Bright Eyes is pretty much just one guy, Conor Oberst, and he is amazing. At the age of 13 he fronted his first band (Commander Venus). At 14 he founded his own record label (Saddle Creek), which is still alive and running today He's been putting out records since he founded the label, and since then he's released 2 Commander Venus records, 5 Bright Eyes records, with a new one due out in the fall. He's currently touring with a side project called Desaparecidos, which is basically Bright Eyes through a distortion pedal, with less personal lyrics. Their debut album came out earlier this year, and was preceded by a 3 track EP. He's played in two other bands, and as a lyricist has been compared to the likes of Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley, and Leonard Cohen. All this by the age of 22. Most of us can't even dream of that kind of success. A perfect 10.

well, I for one Like it a lot. oddly the voice kind of reminds me of the Cure at points.

Glad to hear yet another new "unheard of" band get some quality airplay thanks to none other than RadioParadise! :D

Personally, I'd be a bit wary of a station that accepted everything I uploaded. I mean, half the fun is seeing how far I can push the limits and still get something on the playlist that I enjoy and others might also...

That said, there is something here that I like but his voice needs to grow on me a bit.

give it a few tries. it took most people i knew a few listens. i'm not sure why everyone is making all these crazy comments about his voice. i love it. he sounds like he means every word and note he sings. trust me this guy's good.

Hey! i didn't know you played this! Terrific. Conor Oberst is one heck a musican. He is so much above and beyond a lot of the musicians out there. Even the good artists - especially in the mainstream scene - seem to replicate each other and beat the same ideas to peices. Oberst - to me - is up there with Elloitt Smith, Ben Harper, and Belle and Sebastian.
I just heard that he's releasing a new EP and then working on a brand new Bright Eyes album for the fall of 2002 can't wait.
