A little bit too bumpy for the elevator....Old Navy sounds just about right.

Repetitive noise, but not rhythmic enough to hold my interest

Actually, they took that name from the Beastie Boys, who used to pay people to go out and procure gym shoes for them while on tour. People-who-purchased-gym-shoes-for-them = sneaker pimps.

Then again, if you're offended by the concept of a blue movie, chances are that finding out "Sneaker Pimps" is an hommage to the Beastie Boys rather than prostitution won't win you over at all.

Actually watching Blue Movies would be a hell of a lot more interesting than this tune. Of course, so would a high colonic!

It's so much easier that way, isn't it? Just bend over and take it.

Uh... are they playing this song on the gospel train? Because if they are, I think I might just wait for the next one.

Hmmm, I must say the tantric attitude is intriguing.

Nevertheless this song is great!!

I agree with both Melissa and Dundee. In general, when the group has such a name and the cut has such a name, I expect that the lyrics will offend me.
Now that I listen more closely . . . the song at first seems sacrilegious, but now I think it is about hypocrisy among those who proclaim virtuousness . . . a sentiment I have to share despite my aversion to pimps and blue movies.
The song must be some sort of arch social commentary, including maybe some self-mockery and irony. At that intellectual level, I would have to overcome my initial bias against.
Leaving the words aside, it has some intriguing musicality . . . so I will leave the jury out on this group and ruminate.

I need a "hmmmm" symbol to use here, showing pondering.

I don't miss Kelli all that much. Her voice was a bit too baby-like for my taste. The Pimps are still a really good band.

Indeed interesting - but their first cd was with a female vocalist (Kelli Dayton), with a beautiful and very erotic voice. I can only recommend that CD!.
Unfortunately Kelli hasn't, to my knowledge, made a lot of music since...

Had my attention immediately - which is _not_ why I'm listening at 9 in the morning. Very compelling. Just sitting here listening, now, which is kinda too bad, 'cause it's not quite so compelling when the repetitive lyrics are out front.
Good stuff, Bill.
