I have found myself with a copy of this album and I must say, I am thoroughly enjoying it.

You do have a point. My friend works in promotions at Capitol Records and they are featured as the main band on the label now. I think people believe they rest on the laurels of Radiohead but really they separate themselves from that image of being obscure like Radiohead tends to relay. Capitol Records may be very capitalistic but at least they recognize the new British talent when they see it and get the word out about it. Although Coldplay is mass produced they are still very hold integrity and are not carried away with fame like some pop band. |

I saw Coldplay live and they have a phenomenal show. They have a lot of passion in their music. The crowd was very reciprocating also. |

Agreed. I'm so sick of this band, and of being told of their supposed genius. |

I like these guys but I do understand people's complaints about their songs sounding the same. Many of their songs have a similar tempo with similar vocals, which does get boring after awhile.

I don't have too much enthusiasm for Radiohead either (now there's a bank that's listless), but I like Coldplay...go figure

Well, um, in this case it might inject some much needed energy into what seem to me to be pretty listless songs...
However, I display the same lack of enthusiasm for most of Radiohead's stuff too, so feel free to ignore me on this one...

I have to agree...not sure what these guys have in the way of a shelf life. As Michael Palin once iterated in a Python sketch, " A pleasure at first...but soon becomes a pain the the ---" |

The first half-dozen or so plays, I wouldn't even realize what is was until well after the song was over and I checked the playlist two minutes later, I couldn't even remember what the song sounded like. It was so innocuous, kinda like Dave Mathews. Then when it started to click that it was Coldplay coming on, I listened and thought it was worthy of a 6. I'm afraid I have to agree with you - I just don't get what all the fuss is about with these guys. The tunes are inoffensive, I guess, but...well, that's not say much is it?
