Great music. Greater movie soundtrack. Evocative world music, fine complement to a good film.

Marzz,

Some time back I sent a message to Cynaera after reading one of her many comments here on RP and I found that we shared a love of many of the same artists.  From her profile I found we were born on the same date in 1956.  I felt a special connection with her, even though I'd never seen a picture of her or heard her voice.  I was saddened when I read about her passing several months ago.  Rest in peace, Cynaera.

Yes, we truly miss her...

They bear an uncanny, physical resemblance to one another after having worked together.

Perfect music for this long cold soaking rainy day and week... Great company to a fire and mulled wine... and of course wet dogs sprawled and snoring... Winter is here... Will Summer ever return-?  Create your own word picture from here...

WHAT?  Why? Where? How? When?
We have PM'ed for ages.  Wonder why she didn't answer me last time.
This is disturbing.

Appropriate.  Mood-setting.

Haven't read the tome, but the title alone sounds perfect for this music. Cool! {#Group-hug}

Aaarrgh! How come I never hear this song when I'm putting the moves on my lady or when I'm oiling my pecs before a round of bloodsport? Yet again Gabriel's sultry rhythms work their magic as I sit surrounded by old wincing men in the eurlogist's waiting room.

Basically, it's great story, well told, with meticulous attention to all the intricacies of the cinematographer's craft, including breathtaking visuals and audio.

Makes me think. Because, all these qualities are precisely the ones I missed. I even liked Gibsons hardcore catholic approach better.

Maybe it got me in the wrong mood when I watched it, and I should give it another opportunity..... {#Think} ?

Always part of my "mixed tapes", this one. Exquisite blend of styles and rythms, excellent driving song. Shame the soundtrack was not nominated to an Academy Award. Not that Gabriel would care about that. WOMAD at its best.

Would be great if Bill would follow it up with Dead can Dance's "Rakim."
