This is a very good song always been a fan of GE. Their early albums actually have quite a few good songs, very thematically & lyrically sophisticated yet edgy. If you're inclined, go back and listen to a couple of songs on Moontan (while admiring the original cover art) "Candy's Going Bad", "Are You Receiving Me", and the full sublime 9:16 of "Vanilla Queen". Side One of their album 'Switch' has "Intro: Plus Minus Absurdio", "Love Is a Rodeo", "The Switch", and the intense "Kill Me (Ce Soir)".

Without listening to a DJ, I had always assumed this was the Rolling Stones. This does sound like them.

Banning clips (or anything else) is the best promotion one can get but please let the audiance decide whatever is good or bad for them. GE is timeless. I cant stand Barry, the leadsinger, but every time I visit them it is a party!

It Canada it reached the top 10. Ironically, about 25 hears later, Hillary Clinton used it for her campaign, but when her advisors were reminded of the clip, it was banned again. In Europe and especially their homeland, the Netherlands, they have had hits since the 60s. |

Let's see: Twilight Zone vs Layla.. Both played on the radio all the time. There the comparisons end.
One is by a fun two hit wonder kind of light hearted lyrics upbeat but not too heavy.
One is by an all time great artist and guitar player which plays on about as raw emotions as one could ever play on and features an absolutely phenomenal band includin another legendary guitar player and some of the best sideman/session men in history.
The only thing these 2 have in common is that I hate them both and they were both forced down my ears constantly in the days where all we had was radio and all radio had was this stupid song! |

We sure as hell loved them here in Cleveland. Switch is a killer album. Got to see them here sometime along when that album came out and nearly all of Moontan was still being played on the air here. |
