I agree. The drum circle, along with the flute & acoustic guitar, have a Native American feel to me. Great song by a great band!! |

It's customary for the melody to match the beat and for the beat to match the vocals.
But obviously Blind Melon can't see that.

Okay, never noticed this before, but some of the riffs at the beginning of the song sound like the beginning of Pearl Jam's "I Am Mine".

OK - so are we all listening to the same thing? Sorry to hear the guy died, but that doesn't change what he did when alive and that track sounded like 5 minutes of a cat being strangled - slowly.
A real low point - although, like toothache, there's a sort of euphoric moment when you realize it's over.

There was at least one more excellent song on its way, from the NICO album was the last song idea known... Letters from a Porcupine .... had a good beginning, and was set up for a good song. It was a tape recorded message from Shannon to one of the other band members. Its lo-fi, but still showed the song would have been another good one. |
