Every now and again, hearing this song reminds me of that anti-drug film "Dead Is Dead" we were forced to watch back in junior high.  Must have been about 1982-83 — 30 years later, can't believe I can still recall!  It was pretty intense, especially the scene of a woman puking while "Lean on Me" played....  I guess I am not the only one with memories of it, there's a forum here posted in Aug 2011 and here.  I am surprised to see it is only 21 minutes long — makes quite an impact.

So thankful this is the real Bill Withers version, and not the Club Nouveau version that bedeviled every one of my high school dances.

The Great Bill Withers! Reminds me of simpler times, growing up in the 70s. Sweet.
