More rocking with the Pixies. What is it with this band that gets you moving? |

Once again, the segue adds enjoyment. After "Don't be Cruel" this sounds better than it does most of the time. It's not my favorite Pixies track, but the set ( the medium) is the massage. |

I love the Pixies, but I have to say, this is my least favorite. PSD

This ranks right up there with the best throw-em-a-bone hit singles from non-fm radio bands.

From the opening chord reminicent of Hard Day's Night through the hummable melodic versus to Kim's echoes on the bridge/chorus this is so the product of a band that understood what popular rock and roll of the 60s was to so many and put their own cool and unique edge on it all.
Love to the Pixies.

I remember hearing this in a Gap in 1989, and being torn between outrage and delight. I was 15, of course. ;)

gypsyman wrote: Check out this part from an old interview from NME (New Musical Express) with Black Francis himself about "Here Comes Your Man":
"This is a pre-Pixies song that I wrote when I was about 15. It's about winos and hobos travelling on the trains who die in the California Earthquake..."
I'd heard that explanation, too, but never with the citation to back it up... Well done!! : ) |
