I wonder if that telephone operator ever found out she was an unknowing participant in that little bit of theater.

Had the pleasure of seeing Roger Waters perform this live last weekend in BC Place stadium. Outstanding is all I can say.

BTW, this track should really be titled Empty Spaces -> Young Lust.

Haven't listened to this song in years - due to overplay on every radio station for miles around.  However, it is great to hear this again!  Fantastic song.

So freaking SINISTER...so unbelievably incisive and scathing in the extreme...and all the more powerful and urgent since all the indictments are utter TRUTH and PRIMAL ANGST...and, the way it is so eloquently and bluntly expressed CONTINUES TO BLOW ME AWAY!  It rocked the world when it broke upon the shores of airplay in '79, and it will undoubtedly go on ROCKING INTO THE NEXT!

Thanks Bill for including the intro "Empty Spaces", I love that piece. I actually wish you could include the longer version ("What shall we do?") that is used in the movie.

Guess the Guitar and singing is alright, I just love the ending with the operator.

I didn't know that - thanks - it's always sounded legit to me, now I know :)  {#Bananajam}

Took a few tries, but that was an actual operator for AT&T. The other would just ring the number and say "I'm sorry, charges were rejected,"  but that one got a bit more involved.

I was just thinking the opposite.  For three perfect minutes, it was 1979 again.  I could feel my acne coming back.  This song has captured a moment of my life in a glass jar.  Pity it wasn't a very good moment.  But the song is exquisite.

Both tragically beautiful, but I'd peg your life expectancy at two weeks with those two selections for inspiration!
