Most of the "classic" music from the 50s and early 60s was silly.  Ever listen to the lyrics of "Rock Around the Clock", "Eight Days  a Week", or "Peggy Sue"?  But in a time when TV sitcoms showed married couples sleeping in separate beds, and black America was expected to be quiet and subservient, Little Richard rode the ragged edge of sexual and racial acceptability.

Is it any wonder White America was terrified of Little Richard? Along with other notables, he changed the face of music forever. An amazing talent and a true legend.

I wouldn't want to listen to this song every day but when it comes out of left field every couple of years?  All I can say to that is:

Welllll... we certainly wouldn't have Prince if not for Little Richard. And as for raising eyebrows and moving feet, nobody has ever surpassed Little Richard. He was unabashedly sexually ambiguous a long time before Mick Jagger ever wore a dress and lipstick.

Besides, we need to remember where the music we love came from. If it weren't for this dude, The Beatles sure would have had a different sound.
