That opening is from the legendary 1938 Mercury Theater On The Air production of War of the Worlds. |

Yeah, Pinback always depresses me. I haven't heard them in years - somehow I've managed to avoid them here. I don't feel quite the same overwhelming "down" hearing this that I used to, but still, there's a definite feeling these guys evoke, whatever their skill. |

Yes! Pinback is awesome, super chill laid-back rock. Perfect for RP. This is my fave of theirs too.

Who was kicked: you or The Eels? Nice groove, this song. I guess if one wants up-tempo, happy music, this isn't for them. Maybe those folks should watch The Wiggles or something. |

This band is definitely an acquired taste and can certainly see why some might not like them. For some reason, I have always taken a shining to them! |

___ Try Summer In Abaddon or Autumn of the Seraphs; much there really worth listening to! The song "Afk" on SIA is absolutely a TRIPPING ROCKER! |

Totally creepy.
There've been a number of movies, books, etc. about this idea. Must have been a good 10% of all Twilight Zone episodes. |
