I think the fact that I'm an idiot is well established.
However,my dissatisfaction about Sting not being an awesome bass player anymore and a pretentious guy turned me off from this song originally.

However, this version is totally, completely awesome beyond belief.

I mean, this chick could sing.What a loss.{#Cry}

No, he liked it and he doesn't normally care for covers of his music.

There's a song for that, Stingray.

Sting's original has the emotional depth of an ocean, this is more like a puddle. A shallow one.

I was too!  My "Ten Summoner's Tales" CD is copyright 1993.  Wikipedia places this album in 1998.  Whew, I was afraid Gordon was misleading us!

When I was cheated? Certainly not!

Cheat and song were some 20 years later

Yes, indeed - broken!

She does say, "I've never made promises like these, and there have been some that I've broken..."
Aye, that sucks.

thank you RP for playing Eva on a clear spring morning, her voice was a blessing to all lucky enough to hear it.
Had to wikipedia her sad history, the info is only one part, the recordings are the most important, please play People Get Ready for us

Jagdriver's comment makes about as much sense as . . . um, I don't have a comparison . . .

I LOVE this song/version.

Just wanted to point out an error in RP's database - this album was released in 1998, not 1979.

Very nice cover of Sting's song, in fact, I think that I might like Eve's cover more than Sting's version.

I love Eva Cassidy's singing on this track. I have the Songebird album and it's high on my favourites list. All the tracks are beautifully sung, alternating between "soft and slow" and "lively and energetic". So sad that we lost her at so young an age.

I like both version's; Sting's version was good, but Eva's is better.
