So, Mike Peters is touring and singing with Big Country.  They have a new record out... what little I've heard is pretty good upon first listen.  I liked both bands but a blend confuses me a bit.  I suppose he'd doing a good job honoring Stuart Adamson.

Blast from the past....!  I think I owned this on cassette tape.  Bought it just for this song, it was the standout, can't remember any other tracks.

Played a gig w/ these guys back in the day..they were an good bunch of guys. Cool and not full of themselves ..kind of refreshing for rock musicians.

Even ignoring the U2 resemblance, I think the song suffers mightily from the '80s production. It is also too repetitive.

Always liked this song. Never heard the U2 similarities until now. That's not a bad thing when taken in context with the era.

Some bands almost create their own genre, as I believe did U2, from then until now - re, Jonny Buckland from Coldplay (guitar style, not the band - might as well be The Edge sitting in).  Otherwise, about 90% of what came after 1964 was derivative of The Beatles. As long as it doesn't suck, why not?

Quite likable U2/Simple Minds sound-alike (when those bounds were worth sounding like). Seriously embarrassing album cover. That reminds me, how about some Simple Minds Bill? Am I just hoping for a miracle? I guess I should checkout the LRC feature...

I have to say it:  The guy in the foreground of the album photo looks like a punked-out version of Michael Praed (the guy who portrayed Robin Hood in the Showtime series of the same name.) Yum.  Regardless.  And I still love this song.

If you ever have a chance to see The Alarm in concert definitly check them out! They are GREAT live!

Blimey - are they still going? I saw them at Wembley in about 86 when they were on the bill with INXS, Status Quo and Queen. Was a cracking gig and they were very good.

Not bad, mostly BECAUSE they sound so much like U2.    I suspect that if they weren't horrendously derivative, they wouldn't have had even this one hit.

I love this song - and I love to feel the rain in the summertime, too.  Last time I heard this was in about 1989. Thanks for playing it, Bill and Rebecca!{#Sunny}

That's hilarious, but in RobRyan's defence, I thought it was U2 too until I looked up and saw it was The Alarm - whoever they are/were?!
