I saw The Crow when it was in the theatres. What impacted me the most was the bad guys. It was the first movie I saw where the bad guys weren't just bad they were evil in a rather postmodern way. As "The Crow" hunted them down, one by one, he utiized their own individual evil devices againt them to extract justice. Combine that with a head—banging soundtrack and you have an instant cult classic. Of course there is much much more to the movie than warrents discussion at this point. |

Not bad, but it's still hard to listen to anything from the Femmes if doesn't come close to matching the aural and emotional intensity of their debut.

For a decade or so I was pretty sure the Femmes were a more than usually embittered band of feminist dames.
I had no real problems with the sound and the husky singer lady, I kinda liked it but wondered how they would sound if they cheered the hell up for a moment.
Then I found out that they where all guys and the edginess went away...

So very true. A great movie and an even greater comic. However when I went to the opening night of The Crow here in Denmark I guess we were about 15 people in the cinema... |
