Thanks...a bittersweet thought however....will they re capture the original magic or crash and burn like Jane's Addiction's attempt?

I'll let you know after I see SG at the Fox Theater in Oakland next February.  Should be fun!

Chris is a brilliant vocalist, the band is very tight and powerful.  Solo does lose it points though.

That solo - talk about "called in"! Disrespectful, really. Chris' voice is all there is for this song.

Mediocre bar band, with above-average vocals.

Didn't really like this one much.  Sounded a bit too bombastic.

I fear making this comment due to the fact that I will be condemned by those RP holier than though folks that NEVER listen to commercial radio, but RP SHOULD play the good tunes from commercial radio in order to maintain relevance to what is going on in the world and in order not to ignore the music that is good that gets played there. Boycotting all music played on commercial radio would violate what I am gleaning is the purpose of RP — to play diverse music from diverse sources and not deny accessibility to any good music. There. Let my stoning commence for uttering such blasphemy!

I agree with that, but I don't think that RP selects songs on that basis.  The fact that you actually think there is such a think as commercial music I would dispute however.  Why does everyone want to make things so complicated?  There is good music, and there is music that is not so good, or just bad.   It is different for different people.  What sells well is not a criteria that anyone should worry about.  It's not really worth discussing even.  Enough.  This horse has been beaten to death.

what a voice ... at last Rage against ... got a real singer ! the mix is really kicking ass, i love their first album (Cochise, I am the highway ...) unfortunately the second album was not so good and the band split .... too bad !

RP : could we have "I am the highway" pleeeaaaaaase ? {#Mrgreen}

They released a third album, "Revelations", but as you said, they kind of fell off a bit. They were a good group that was probably best kept short lived, unfortunately.

love the guitar solo - simple with a killer effect.  can't play it loud enough...even if it is stupid.

Buckethead was busy that night so they had to come up with their own riffs.

ugg.. make this pain stop. i grew as a teen in the 90's and never, ever liked Chris or Soundgarden. Temple of the Dog is alright, but thats about as far as I go with Chris.

Also, i dont get the RATM comparison. There surely are no sonic similarities, just some musicians are shared.

Agreed - did you see Morello at the R&R HOF concerts with Springsteen doing Tom Joad.  Solo similarly at odds with the rest of the presentation.

Have they updated the sound of Grand Funk Railroad? Audioslave has done better than this.
