I prefer his big hit "Shoes That Look Like Feet".

I really enjoyed Jack Johnson in 2005.  It hasn't dated that much and I don't find it irritating (as I do James Blunt grrrrrr), but I do think he has made a few LPs too many of the same thing.

I admire his low key, laid back  approach, and see no reason to knock him just because the middle classed surf wanabees picked up on him too.

"Cookie Jar" is still a fab JJ track.

Dear h8hater,

Not sure I agree with your particular method of policing the songboards. But you do have good taste in music. :)

I will donate $100 if i RP never plays this awful awful "musician" again.
Take him and Tom Shane and put them on a desert island together.

How about you donate $100 anyway, and just enjoy the rest of the music that RP has to offer?

Cheers!

I actually know some that like Jack Johnson, but also quite a lot of other drivel. But seriously... it is not that bad. It is not that good either, it's just background texture.

His Wikipedia entry describes his music as "acoustic soft rock"  Soft rock?  Is that not a contradiction?

I often wondered about Jack Johnson and what "his sound" was like. Now that I've heard it, its sounds so much like the typical coffee shop, internet cafe stuff that is neither obnoxious or offending but at the same time lacking of any real interest or quality. In other words, it's very "Dave Matthews" sounding, which means it belongs in the garbage can (or in the case of my last DMB disc-flung out my car window in total frustration of lack of musical originality).
