Was just thinking how cool this was and going to check who it was. Just a part of the Porcupine Tree I haven't climbed yet. Another cool song. This band are very cool and go up there for me with Muse in terms of bands I really want to see live that I haven't yet.

Frankly, I think ear-phones delivering music are dangerous: on the street, while walking or bicycling, or in any crowded social venue. When the Sony Walkman first became popular, a great many people were mugged in NYC (and likely other major cities) while wearing them. I just remember it because I lived in NY back then. Two young men died on railway tracks in Canada not so long ago. One near Edmonton, Alberta; the other in Ontario. Both were wearing MP3 players.
Socially acceptable suicide I guess. Tragic nonetheless. This song is such a wonderful celebration of growing up in a warm, secure household. |

I couldn't agree more. Shuffle has it's place, and it's quite appealing to use it while I'm working and not totally focussed on the music, but I have a playlist from which I can use the shuffle feature. It doesn't include any of the albums that are more than just a collection of songs. Oh, and BTW, I don't own an i-Pod. The last thing I need is for Steve Jobs to be telling me what I can and can't do after giving him money... I have a number of i-Audio's. Cowan's philosophy is that "you bought it, you use it the way you'd like to"... awesome players. I had never heard of i-Audio and looked up the products... Stunning. I'm certainly going to take a closer look at them, I'm getting pretty fed up with Jobs tyrannical control over content and apps. Thanks, I love all the little tidbits of info from RP listeners I pickup. |

Canlistener wrote:The whole first disc of 'The Incident' is one song flowing into the next for a reason. It makes listening to a single track on an ipod set to shuffle somewhat unappealing as the PT song ending is cut off with out the usual digitally enhanced smoothness. This was Wilson's little shot at mp3 players.
He hates the fact that music has been reduced from creating an 'album' that has a feel and a journey, to a 'hit single' with a bunch of garbage to be discarded or simply not downloaded. Yes I own an ipod, but am old enough and have the attention span to keep it off shuffle and enjoy albums as they were meant. Plus it helps me ignore the The Doobie Brothers blaring in the supermarket!
