This is a terrific cut and the second version of the song in 24 hrs. You tryin' to tell us somethin', Bill? BTW, if you other listeners ever go to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and don't do the Gospel Tent, you are stone fools.

Nice tune. But clearly no relation to Led Zeppelin's Nobody's Fault But Mine.

I think Joan Osborne can certainly be Gospel-ly, Bluesy, or anything else she wants,.. and especially on a tribute album,.. she is very versatile.

I like Joan, but she's a little too "white" for this great tune!
What?! White folks got rhythm!
Sheesh! Next you'll be sayin Elvis was too white for his early songs... Where will it stop??? Can't we all just get, err... Sing along?

She gets a raw deal, the musical version of being typecast because of her one hit. This is good. |

funny, i just saw this comment of yours. i agree. i think she's got lots of soul, and i think it suits her voice very well. she's got that rawness, that...i don't know what to call it. but i think this really, really suits her. i like it a lot. |

It's not the worst I've heard. Maybe if she did a shot of whiskey right before she hit the stage. Maybe give it that little bit of sumthin-sumthin that's missing. |

I've got the version by Blind Willie Johnson. Joan Osborne makes it possible to understand all the lyrics, but you can't compare the two. BWJ takes it.
