Yeh--shoulda done "Driving On 9" before this, instead.
That'd've worked.

Man, this sounds like lyrics and stylings ala Old 97’s!!! Any truth to this?

Me likes me Old 97’s. Me likes me this too!

I'm pretty sure this predates Aimee Mann's CD. Amazon's release date for this is wrong (as is often the case). It came out in 1993, I think.

Mann's I'm With Stupid came out in 1995. Mumbo Gumbo in 1998. But so what? The Clash's London Calling aped Elvis's first album cover; ditto Joe Jackson's Body and Soul Coltrane's original.

I think I love this one, although it could just be the stupidity. Needs another listen.

I do hear it....maybe she's channelling? I think kd lang's voice is a touch better, smoother. purer without even trying...maybe. This is a pleasant enough song.
