According to the Wiki - The dord is a bronze horn native to Ireland, with excavated examples dating back as far as 1000 BC, during the Bronze Age. 104 original dords are known to exist...

Methinks that Bill and Rebecca really like this song.  It is on pretty regular rotation here.

Regarding the comments saying it sounds like "I wanna be a dog,"  I always thought it sounded like "I wanna be a door," which makes perhaps less sense, but is at least more surreal...

I am not sure about adored, but everyone wants to be envied, it's an essential part of what it means to be human.  It's a base emotion, though, and not one to be celebrated.  This song plays off that irony.

Funny, Ive heard this many times over the years, but never really listened to nor remembered it.

Now, thanks to you, it is, and shall always be, remembered with the refrain, "I wanna be a dog!".

Ah, well, at least, I'm more likely to remember it, and grin, next time.... :)

Godlike can only go half way towards describing this song. my first foray into the 90s sound - yet it came out in 1989..seminal, inspiratonal...fantastic..
