According to this obituary Cynaera (Ann) suffered from a subdural hematoma. There's a forum thread dedicated to her.

Even though I didn't know her in person, her comments really seemed to convey her personality. To see them being bumped up makes me think that the internet creates some kind of immortality. I think it's great as long as you're remembered for the right reasons.

I'm loving Pearl Jam more with every song I discover.  This one has me in tears... When I die, I don't want a funeral. Cremate me, scatter my ashes in Lamoille Canyon and save a handful to plant with a new garden that must be maintained (although if I'm dead, I won't know whether a garden ever got planted, so I'm counting a lot on trust here.)

This stupid song prompted me to confront my brother with what to do with our parents' ashes (yes, we still have them.)  After much discussion, we decided that the rest of the family (a sister, a niece, a nephew) won't give a rat's spats what we do with the ashes because they each got their little half-a-cup full of ash to do with what they wanted. (Gruesome and creepy, really.)

So - bro and I decided that once the growing season is over and stuff is due to be cut back, we'll rototill the garden area, plant our parents' ashes (sans containers) in a special place in the garden, and then have a stepping-stone to mark the place. If their ashes enhance the soil, great. If they don't, it's still good, because Mom and Dad lived in this house for over 40 years, so it's their ground. They should be laid to rest where they were most at home - at home.

I hate Pearl Jam for making me go into this before I was ready.... I love Pearl Jam for the same reason.

Never mind the cremation, which is an awful waste of energy and materials. Just stick my body into a cardboard coffin and plant a tree on top. Might as well recycle valuable nutrients and put a little something back.

{#Stupid}  I think I know what you mean and I assume it has nothing to do with American Sign Language or "Jiggle Bells".  I like this tune, but more in connection with the film.  It doesn't seem to work as well on its own.

Is it morbid to put your whole funeral playlist together?
Absolutely not! Many cultures hold that making friends with the fact of your death is essential to embracing life. Sounds healthy to me. Leo Kottke's Pink Christmas is on my memento mori list. Just caught PJ at Jazzfest, but always been pretty underwhelmed - and this was no exception.

I just watched this film and hearing this song at the end was so perfect.  What a voice he has.
