Why have I not become a huge fan yet? This is great. I mean, they had me at the banjo, but this is quite wonderful.

That's funny — considering that Jesus was a Jew, so I guess they wouldn't mind having one of their own on their radio; he seemed to attract crowds wherever he went so he could have been a big hit on the radio over there. |

You'll never hear America (the group) here. I've tried to upload a few gems from them here (R.Paradise) with no luck. There's been 7 songs uploaded by them... all rejected. |

March 16 hey that's my birthday!
GUSTER LYRICS
"Jesus On The Radio (Daddy On The Phone)"
5 a.m., March 16
Jesus on the radio
You took a photograph of me
on your yellow bucket seat
Its too high, its too wide
You're so low you don't know
To get through, to go around
So don't look back
There ain't nothing there to see
Was once like you
Can't say I recognize that face
in that picture that you keep
Its too high, its too wide
You're so low you don't know
To get through, to go around
To get through, to go around

I just saw Guster at the Showbox in Seattle (September 22). They really put on a great show, and the audience loved every minute.

Actually, a good part of Guster is Jewish. Apparently it didn't bother them enough to stop them from writing the song. |

That may be true, but until Adam Sandler's "Channukah Song" hit the airwaves, you didn't hear any Channukah songs playing on the radio at the same time of year. And I'm sure there are quite a few people that would disagree with your assessment of what Christmas means to them, though I tend to agree that most people don't celebrate Christmas with its original intentions in mind. Commercialism reigns supreme that time of year.
That being said... saw Guster a couple of months ago and they closed the show with a completely unplugged version of this song, the members of the band standing side-by-side at the front of the stage, and it sounded fantastic.
Here's an excerpt from their website that pertains to the comments at hand:
Q: Are you guys a Christian band?
A:Rather than answer this one with a simple yes/no, we suggest you check the following sources for clues: 1) Brian's last name -- "Rosenworcel." 2) Any photo of Ryan where you can see his profile. 3) The Guster Backstage Contract Rider, where we stipify that "the dressing room must be furnished with plenty of borscht, noodle kugels, potato latkes, gefilte fish and homemade rugulah for dessert."
