this happens to be one of my personal top 5 albums... i just love everything about it. the way it flows, the atmosphere it sets... relaxing, sad, and happy all in a weird mixture. the vocals are soothing, but there's tension.. and now i'm rambling. just buy it! it's great, i promise! especially after multiple listens, on a good sound system or headphones, etc etc. PLAY MORE BETA BAND PLEASE!

Sounds like Beatles and ELO. A little bit. |

Interesting tune, but I don't think this song would have sold "The Three EPs".

I love this! Does anyone have this album - is it solid? I'm pretty into "heros to zeros"

This song is rather ho-hum, but the segue from Beck - Girl was excellent |

Has an anti-gravity, mildly paranoiac feel that is very groovable.

The Beta Band's one of those acts that took me a while to appreciate. It took maybe six to eight listenings (and some minor intoxication) for me to come 'round. Now I'm totally addicted. Two of the songs from Hot Shots II occupy the two most frequently played songs in my iTunes library. It's been a year since I started listening to the band, and they just keep getting better with age.

I hear a lot of noise in this music that allmost sounds like clicks and pops like it was ripped from a LP, but I think it's part of the music.
There is such a thing as adding too much sound effects...

Just rented HIGH FIDELITY over the weekend.
" I will now sell 3 albums by BETA BAND."
btw, where is that PETULIE(?) line from?
"Get your petulie stink out!"
Very familiar.
I thought it was "get your patchouli stink out" - that potpourri stuff? |
