Enough! Already! I'm starting to think I'm sitting on a park bench in Paris or something. This set's getting off on a weird tangent. I think one of you guys needs to buy a plane ticket to Europe for a while. |

quesarah wrote:Goodnight! I was surprised to discover this book was published in 1947!! It was featured recently on Mad Men — the current season is set around 1966. I thought I caught them on a goof. I did not have this book in my childhood (I had Dr. Suess and vintage Oz books), and only heard of it in the last 8 years, from my friends reading it to their children. It certainly has stood the test of time! |

Not that it matters, but Britney Spears' debut album was probably released before Shivaree's. I don't think they sound alike at all. |

The album is I Oughta Give You a Shot in the Head for Making Me Live in This Dump. You can pick one up used, from 24 cents plus shipping! My favorite song on IOGYASITHFMMLITD is definitely Cannibal King, the album opener. And you'll recognize Bossa Nova, although you won't know you do from the name alone! Yummy!! Thank you for this! I can't put another thing on my credit card, but once I get it paid down, this will be one of the things I buy. |

I actually prefer the studio recording over this one. Both, however, are outstanding, |

Adds an ominous overtone to the quirky but benign book that I used to read to my little ones at bedtime. Great voice, too.

Shivaree: a noisy mock serenade (made by banging pans and kettles) to a newly married couple. Hmmm...

I like it. She's got a sultry voice that should not be filtered through the technology of a studio album.
