My fave James Brown song. This and funky drummer. I heard JB was such a perfectionist, he would penalize his players on stage for messing up. He'd flash his hands at the instrumentalist that mucked up, with each hand flash being a 5 dollar deduction on his paycheck. Don't know why I brought that up, kind of a buzzkill. Anyway, he performs this song with the Muppets, and Monster absolutley kills it on the drums.

Were any of the Muppets fined?

Yeah, me too - I've wondered about that ever since I first heard it at the school disco ages ago. Suggestions welcome as to what "that thing" is...

You want to know where Prince got his moves? Check out some old footage of J.B. and the Famous Flames.

His descent into madness and death is largely due to his late introduction to "Colombian marching powder"....shame as the man was a bloody genius

As he was about to "collapse" he'd have his stage managers come out and put a "king's" cape on him and lead him offstage. About 4/5ths of the way off stage, he'd THROW off the cape and come back to the microphone. This would happen several times, which added to that "hardest working man in show business" title....

Agreed, just like Kraftwork stuff...funny that the hip-hop scene doesn't know its a bunch of German geeks who they've sampled...lol

speaking of which, Kraftwerk would be nice to hear sometime somehow....
