Finally. Here is the first, the one, the only one to date, to which I could apply any number of awful, funny, acerbic comments for which RP devotees are famous. Like the ones normally reserved for, oh, Natalie Merchant. Words like "grating", "non-musical", "nothing redeeming" or , How Low!, sucko-barfo. I truly don't like the Cranberries.

Heard The Cranberries on the radio today and wondered if RP stilled played them - they do!

I like this, this group seemed to have so much promise when I heard Linger which is a great song, then the rest of their music was bland, formulaic and her voice started to grate. Good to hear another song I like from them though!

Mildly trippy, yet steeped in traditional music. I like it.

7 - Quite Likable. Though I think it'll grow on me. I'm a Cranberries fan, and I quite like her unique voice. There isn't another voice like Delores' out there, and I think it works well for their music. |

Well at least she sings in her local accent, and not with an American accent as do 99% of all singers! (singers in the English language that is).

Though I will be the first to admit that it's a love it/hate it phenomenon (e.g. I love Tom Waits voice).
There are many singers whose (strong) native accents are acoustically invisible (or nearly so). It makes me think of "country" music in the US. The singers force the southern accent into their voice. I find that pretty annoying, as I do Ms. O'Riordan's voice. Sadly, this is an otherwise compelling piece of music. |

I really like her voice, but I'd reduce the drums and violins. |

This reminds me a good deal of Sinead O'Connor's "I Am Stretched On Your Grave". This is a good thing, and much more interesting that I expect of the Cranberries.
