Fantastic song from one of the best albums in the early 90's.
Girlfriend should be in everyone's record collection

As others have said, the break-up album that all others should be measured by.

Pain, love and grief, and false hope, all in one CD. Brilliant.

Will listen to this now, as it is what I need.

I agree wholeheartedly with this 2+year old comment.  I'm surprised so many people like this . . . oy.  Seems very pedestrian.

this is very heartfelt—-he came out during a time where (like today, I guess) you need to have a gimmick.

Very good song! I heard another song from this LP last night on P*nd*ra and was impressed. May have to look it up on Amazon. Matthew's music holds up well.

The ultimate collage album.  Seen him in like 94, Sweet.  Nearly defined the 90's for me.

I think the entire cd is enjoyable.

Richard Lloyd and Robert Quine are incredible.

Fianally!!! SOME MATTHEW! He was the only thing missing here. Yay!!!  Thank you so much. This is one of my absolute faves of his. Saw him play it live accoustic with Ivan Jullian in Lawrence, KS about ten or so years ago. One of the most magically concert experiences I have ever had. Thank you!!!

It's nice to hear Matthew Sweet actually wrote something besides "Girlfriend"..the only song ever played on the commercial radio stations.

One of the better tracks off this uneven album. I could hear Elliott Smith doing this song major justice. It would have benefitted from Elliott's voice rather than Matthew Sweets. Still like it though...

Is the album cover pic from something?

The cover picture is actress Tuesday Weld, a publicity shot taken in the late 50's. I've had this cd since it's release in '91 and it holds up in my opinion.
