There's often an irony when someone claims Led Zeppelin has been plagiarized.  This song was written by Anne Bredon in the 1950s, not by anyone from Led Zeppelin.  However, the band did not even credit her for writing the song until fairly recently.

Probably the best Led Zep song ever. I also reckon it sums up the end of the 60's somewhat perfectly.

Stops me dead in my tracks at work.  Lean back, slow grin emerging, letting the waves of 1969 wash over me, remembering listening this in my bedroom as high school senior at max volume.  My poor parents never understood.

Don't worry, not all people like LZ.. Perhaps you are one of those that prefers to listen to say ... Engelbert Humperdinck ?

Indeed there is.  It seems you feel your taste in music is fact and not your own opinion.

There are a few songs that I remember hearing for the first time because of their immediate impact.  This is one: my friend's dad's turntable, in a den, October, 13 YO.  Incredible.

One of the best Zep tunes, and was the model for Stairway to Heaven, according to JP Jones.  Easy chord progression too.  It stands up well even 43 years later.

This is a quite nerdy comment, I do recognize it but... The chord progression is very similar to the one in "While my guitar gently weeps" that was aired about an hour earlier. Is it just a coincidence?
Both are excellent songs, but for personal reasons, this one hurts today.

there's only a few sets of chord progressions - with some limited variations - that actually sound good.

But Jade, you're not gonna die. Ever. And I hate to break it to you, but if there's a song I'd play at your funeral, should it ever happen, it'd be "Ramble On."  Or maybe "The Rain Song." Don't want to think about you ever leaving - I know death is a part of life, but I don't like it one bit. {#Tongue-out}

      Miss you Cynaera. Hope you find peace and traquility on your new journey....
