Problem is, they sound the same. 

And we're spoiled, because Bill is usually pretty good at avoiding overplay, except when a heavily playlisted artist like Radiohead or Neko Case releases something new.

Thanks for agreeing with me, ladies. The Goldsmiths ordinarily do an impeccable job of programming here, but it's well documented across this forum that DB and TH are in FAR too heavy of a rotation (at the expense of other artists whose music is only occasionally heard, if ever) and that the resistance and pleading is well established and growing.

Obviously, it is not possible to please everyone. However, the general and apparently deeply felt antipathy for David Byrne (at least on the part of a goodly number of listeners here) is a bit difficult for me to understand. For me, he continues to be interesting and sufficiently quirky enough to merit attention. If nothing else, there is no small amount of humor in his music.

You know, I have a sneaking suspicion that if RP, just for laughs, had labeled this track with the name of some Brazilian musician instead of David Byrne's, the very same people running around saying how badly this sucks would be falling all over themselves to post what an amazing groove it is.

The reflexive anti-Byrne stuff is getting kind of old, guys.

This is so strained it's laughable. Like asking Conway Twitty to sing Freewheel Burning by Judas Priest.

DB and Mambo, razors and rum. Why DB thinks this sounds good is amazing. One of the few ones I have given to any RP song.

Love Byrne and TH, hate this.

This album, and his collaboration on the Brazil Classics (Beleza Tropical) added a dimension to DB that catches many folk out. He was SO recognisable as Talking Heads, and thats all people expect him to be. Very very talented fella.

Gotta love this guy.... he's such a talent.

The really great thing is he has this INCREDIBLE brass section, and Celia Cruz, in one of her last recordings

different music, different style, SAME SHITTY VOICE!
