I watched the new documentary 'Marley' yesterday. Over two hours long but worth every second for anyone even remotely interested in reggae.

While it was more centered on his life rather than the music, it shows a glimpse into why Bob was such a phenomenon and why he is still being played all over the world.

RIP Bob.

It's on Amazon Prime Instant videos.  I am going to watch it this weekend.

PSD button clearly working for me today. This came up when I was listening to something that appeared to have musical merit, but was far too down tempo for my current mood.
Just what I needed, even when I didn't know what it was that I needed. Could you ask more of a radio station?

Best of all is when you hit PSD and get a never-played song!

Thankfully, it's not up to you or anyone else who would dismiss an entire genre of music as "horrible".

No, the content of his comment marks him as an idiot.  I'm not bothered by negative commentary, but at least have some construction in it.

Or when non-disco acts (Greatful Dead come to mind) would lay down disco influenced tracks. That said, this song seems more like pre-disco funk influenced.

A dark time for music indeed... I'm just glad I didn't live through that era or I'd have driven myself to deafness just to make the hurting stop.

(I know, that assumes that I wouldn't like it if my tastes were not formed by other kinds of music first, but I'd like to think that I wouldn't have liked that kind of music.  After all, as soon as I explored the world outside of hair metal, I realized how much the majority of it sucked.)

It sounds like a treeful of aroused monkeys.
(actually it is a kind of instrument with a rubbing doohikey connected to a sounding board.)

Guitar World has a great interview with Junior Marvin about Marley and his experience with the band. Marley was extremely driven, and the way the music was developed is very interesting. I learned quite a bit.
