I really appreciate how Jack loves to go as far as he can with everything he has, like Byrne and Belew and so many other unorthodox wildcats jammed for our perpetual enjoyment on RP!

RP rarely converts me.  I used to dismiss all his albums as whatever.  But I ended up getting Jack White's latest album — totally in love.  The one with the vulture sitting on his shoulder on the cover.  It's crazy, but I hear the over-pedalled piano minor scale riffs in my sleep - it's become a brain obsession that I just can't shake.

RP is so great consistently, I end up logging in for the occasional jarring Sucko Barfo. Yuk

What initially turned me off about The White Stripes was Jack White's near-hysterical vocals - always reminded me of "Ballroom Blitz" by The Sweet.  I must be getting older, or maybe more mature in my listening habits, because this song didn't have me lunging for the mouse to click on the mute button.  Hmmm. {#Dancingbanana_2}

It's crude, but I like it when I'm in a mood...I'm just not in it right now.

Yet another nice retro sound from the Stripes.  Great groove.

Hottest drummer since Karen Carpenter.

ETA:  And I don't mind saying, *this* has got a good beat.

Thanks for that.  Your comment to a previously unknown artist (to me) sparked a trip to Wikipedia, then a half hour of youtube...

P.S.  Actually, I've heard 'Do You Know What I Mean' many times, just didn't know it was him...

Remember the earlier post where crogers said that rock was smelly? Maybe she is trying to clean the joint up? {#Lol}

When rock was Rock, it was young, basic, raw, sexy, unkempt, dirty and smelled of sweat, grass and The Blues.  It was amazing.  It changed the world.  And now it's gone.  Except for Jack.  Across his various (and varied) projects, this guy keeps offering up that great low-budget-no-apologies style of rockin' that reminds me of what it was like when it was real.  I'm glad he's around.

This post made me laugh.

(Jack White not Jack Black, and Jack White is in the Raconteurs. But for some reason I think you already know that. If not, sorry for laughing!)
