Man, he sings with such conviction. The Neil Young of the 90's - lyrically awesome. He sounds like he *means* it, just like Neil does.
Love it!

This really reminds me of Ben Ottewell's " Lightbulbs," but any influence must be the reverse. |

There is a deep connection I've noticed at PJ shows between this band and their lyrics, with guys of a certain age. I'm a little older and love this band massively but I agree there is a very spiritual connection going on here. |

Or could you mean hooked up as a musical term? It would have been posthumously since her "music" only came out in 2010.
No...dude...I wa s kidding. Promise. Imagined scenario of Kamakawiwiole as overhyped singer/ukelele rock star...perhaps like Eddie Vedder.
No disrespect to the man. I bought one of Iz's songs as soon as I heard it on RP. May he rest in peace.
Kim can take care of herself, God forbid. |

I gave the song a 4, but the crowd sure seemed easily impressed. I imagined they'd yawn if they heard Peter Ostroushko on the mando. They made a lot of money though so they must be good. Hey Acceptable is good enough. I'd rather have acceptable than barf in my shoes.
It was a ukele. THAT explains it.

They'll be gone in a month and you'll never hear of them again!" He was talking about the Beatles of course. I'm wondering how well Vedder's solo ukulele work is going to be remembered. I'm very sure the ukulele is fun and all, but Eddie Vedder is no Kamakawiwiole. It did take a long time for Pearl Jam to really click for me. I always liked them but I was a half generation older than the average fan and I let that bother me. Now I think they are in, say, the top ten of the most influential groups of the rock era. |

Looks like he was wrong.
I won't defend all the "new" "darlings", but I bet Death Cab is remembered for a long time, too.
