I would argue he's written more 'good' songs than anybody else alive or dead, but I guess we just have polar opposite ideas of what constitutes 'good'.

So, no, you are not wrong, and I can't correct you. I can however hold the opinion that either you have never listened to any of his albums, or your taste sucks.

ciao singnorina

let me help you with a little elvis education - as one who has all of his catalogue.

As Elvis has had a 35 year career and has recorded songs and records in nearly all genres and sub-genres of music you have quite an exploration ahead  - have fun.

Start with The Best of Elvis Costello: The First 10 Years - a recent compilation that has lots of the best and most popular songs from his first handful of albums.

Well, this is the BEST album to start with....it is, IMHO, the BEST he ever did!!  One of those albums where you know the words to every song once you get hooked

I wish I had a dollar for every beer I've drunk to this song.

Or just enough to buy a six-pack and the CD!

Rock it, E! {#Cheers}

Yeah, I meant the sound as a whole as well as echoes of Jeff in Elvis' voice. I could see Wilco doing this tune.

Great Album -I still have mine (the original not the re-release) and you can truly hear the hunger in Elvis' voice back then.
