I think someone pushed her into that fire (after hearing her sing this song). And while we're on the subject of fire, she can't hold a candle to Lucinda W.

I believe it is...it looks lovely. Quite a sharp contrast to the sound of this song to my ears, however.
Guh. 2. |

I don't know, it sounds pretty damn haunting to me. It's intentionally slow. I think it works. The pain of solitude really comes through here.

Thought it was an old Neil Young song. By then, it sounded like someone was singing a slowed-down cover of a rock n roll song I should have known...but it wasn't any of these!
Which made me like it more. Keep on, RP!

I agree with you except I think Lucinda is MORE annoying.... |

It sounds like the drummer is straining to make it to the next beat. I wish he'd just give up.

Y'all remember that ancient Shake & Bake commercial, with the little blonde girl that would belt out "And I halped!" in a horrific southern accent at the end? Yeah, I was reminded of that commercial.

THAT caught my attention and perked my ears up, too. Love Lucinda, and Mary sounds tremendously like her.
Have you heard Lucinda's tune 'Righteously' from her World Without Tears disc? God, that's a hot tune, with some of the most sinister, tortured slide guitar licks. |

I like Lucinda Williams and wondered what the hell happened to her, then saw it was someone else and breathed a sigh of relief. |
