These guys are beyond the hype. Check out the syncopation and the lyrical ease of these musicians. If you're not hearing their originality within the genre then you're not opening your ears enough. Give this album a solid 3-4 listens to get past the hype and you will get it. This is great rock and roll.

Did this dude really use the words "syncopation" and "lyrical ease" in defending the Arctic Monkeys? Stuff the music critic parlance in the hamper with your dirty socks, bud...all I'm hearing from these guys are mediocre Strokes' b-sides. Never mind syncopation...people either like them or they don't...and judging from the comments on this board, they don't! Which is just fine, because any band that gets this big this fast is bound to fall from glory soon anyways (See: Oasis).

You can say that you don't like them. You can call them a bunch of apes. But to say that what they express is not even music clearly shows that you are narrow minded and quite bluntly, ignorant!

This is a radio station, and radio stations play MUSIC.

...is that these guys have really only been musicians for 3 years or so. Look at their bio

I'm pretty disconected from any circles that hype bands, RP is about the only thing I listen to anymore. I think these guys are pretty good, I'd like to hear more.

A very likable, enthousiastic and talented young band with their musical heart on the right place! It's a shame they became the hype like they are (were), it almost makes it impossible to simply judge their music ... which is actually pretty good (but not overwhelming)

These guys, despite all the hype, are good. This song has a great hook. And they're only kids, I see big things.

I'm not even bothering to try. I think they are just a bunch of yobbos with a guitar and drums and crummy 'lyrics'

I hope so. Love the lyrics. "'Cause he's a scumbag..." I know that guy.

It's interesting that Bill was playing these guys a LONG time before the rest of the world noticed them.

I like the genteel nature of the song but I would agree they're on the verge of being overplayed. I think the name is quite ordinary. Lacks imagination.

Why is Arctic Monkeys overplayed? They are an average band and have average songs but I hear at least one of their songs everyday on RP. Kind of overdozed here.
